INTERPLASTICA 2007 Moscow: In top form for its anniversary

10/11/2006

10th International Trade Fair Plastics and Rubber
to be staged in Moscow from 30 January to 2 February 2007

INTERPLASTICA in top form for its anniversary

Since the beginning of the decade, demand for plastics on the Russian market has taken off sharply and growth will stay high for some years to come. Rising demand can be attributed to the rapid development of key user industries. Local production, however, currently falls far short of meeting the needs of the domestic market. Despite the expansion of current capacities and set-up of new plants, Russia will remain dependent on imports for the foreseeable future.
The general upswing in the Russian economy and increasing demand in all user industries, coupled with the tremendous need for renewals and upgrades in existing machine parks, present bright prospects for the sale of plastic and rubber machines. There are a host of investment projects in all of the user sectors that will spur demand for machinery. Local experts predict that the dynamic expansion of the market will hold course in the medium term. So far, Russian machine building is poorly developed and production numbers have little impact on the
market.
The total volume of machinery delivered to Russia climbed by 2.6
percent in 2005. Plastic and rubber machinery imports from Germany jumped by an above-average 10.5 percent to EUR 180 million. As Russia’s chief supplier, the German industry meets 42 percent of demand, followed by Italy, France, and Austria. This year up to and including August, the value of German exports is just off last year’s mark.
All of which adds up to an excellent climate for INTERPLASTICA 2007. Since its premiere in 1988, the International Trade Fair Plastics and Rubber has established itself as the leading platform for the industry in Russia. Experts from all corners of the Russian Federation travel to Moscow to find out first hand about the latest technologies and the high-quality palette of offerings from the international plastics and rubber industry. Exhibiting companies set great store by participating in INTERPLASTICA because it’s here that top decision makers can be met, new business contacts forged and deals set in motion. The tenth
staging of the event promises to be INTERPLASTICA at its best – some 480 companies will step out and showcase their product innovations across 11,500 square metres of net exhibition space at the trade fair which will open its doors at the Moscow fairgrounds, ZAO Expocentr, in Krasnaya Presnya from 30 January to 2 February. This means that the upcoming fair is yet again a significantly larger event than its predecessor – in total, the gain in exhibition space amounts to 12 percent. Demand for floor space among German businesses stepped up by an above-average 20 percent. German manufacturers enjoy a strong position on the market and present themselves accordingly. INTERPLASTICA has also found favour with Russian suppliers who will be represented by 115 companies spread across 3,000 square metres of net exhibition space – 15 percent more than at the previous event.
INTERPLASTICA will be housed in Halls 1 and 3 as well as the ZAO
Expocentr forum. Officially sponsored national participations from
Germany, Italy, Austria, Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China as well as for the first time from Portugal and Romania have been booked. Due to the close thematic and technological links between the fairs, INTERPLASTICA will once again be staged in tandem with UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA, the International Trade Fair Machinery and Equipment for the Manufacture of Packaging, Packaging Machinery, Confectionery Machinery, Packaging and Packaging Aids, Logistics in 2007.
Messe Düsseldorf GmbH in cooperation with its subsidiary OOO
Messe Düsseldorf Moscow are responsible for organising both events.
